In this new training, we present to you one of the most misunderstood skills on uneven bars: forward giant in eagle or L grip. Even though this element is often only done by the elite, it is actually quite accessible for gymnasts with flexible shoulders who are in a high performance program.
In order to understand the intricacies of this element, we are offering you a training guide in three segments.
The first segment dives into a technical analysis of the movement. In a detailed video, you'll learn all the actions and placements needed at each point in the skill. In particular, we'll explain how to move from hanging into support in the upswing.
The second section will deal with the prerequisites needed to be able to begin working on the skill progression. We'll see the technical and physical capabilities a gymnast must possess.
In the third segment, we'll focus on the learning sequences. We offer you a wide variety of teaching options, from the first exercises to get to know eagle grip, to giants that are competition ready. We'll take the time to explain each objective, and the placements to look for in each drill.
By the end of this training, you’ll have a clear and comprehensive understanding of these giants.
We hope you enjoy the learning experience.
