First of all in this training we'll examine, step by step, the technical placements needed to progressively learn this element.
Next, to determine the best time to start teaching this skill on beam, and to know how to go from the floor to execution on beam, we'll explain the skills and criteria to look for.
You'll also get to see spotting technique and specific physical preparation that will help both with muscle strength and with a more in-depth understanding of the skill.
At the end of the training, the "Live" video brings you 4 case studies so you can observe gymnasts as though we were in a training session, and practice looking for the parts of the skill that need correcting.
A tip from us: Handspring is one of the acrobatic skills that involves losing your visual reference points. This means that it's also a steppingstone toward front aerial as well as to connecting other gymnastics elements. It's also a foundational skill whose acquisition requires extreme precision, so make sure to be thorough!
