Aptitudes, capabilities, competencies, stage of development of the child - what factors should be taken into account before establishing a physical preparation program?
In this second tutorial on physical preparation in gymnastics, we'll contextualize the specific parameters involved in our discipline.
To do this we'll first define performance, and distinguish the two major types of performance to take into account; then we'll begin to look at a schematic model for performance in Women's Gymnastics.
This will highlight the factors influencing these two types of performance, and we'll pay particular attention to those that impact physical preparation.
We'll analyze the differences between aptitudes, capabilities, skills and competencies.
We'll examine and define the different capacities related to the gymnast, and we'll focus on the importance of taking into account the different stages of a child’s development, and of their differentiated rhythms of progress .
Enjoy!
